Kytelers Inn is located in the heart of the medieval city of Kilkenny. Its name derives from being the townhouse of Dame Alice Kyteler, a sorcerer in the fifteenth century. The lower ground floor is an original fifteenth century stone vaulted cavern which is now the restaurant area and is famed for its excellent cuisine. However the upper floors, apart from the main stone fireplace, changed many times down through the centuries. It was believed to have been haunted as some seven previous owners failed to make it a commercial success as licensed premises.

The present owners, the Flynn family, commissioned Angela Murphy to completely refurbish this great stone building. Local stone and heavy timber beams were used in a style befitting it and current pub trends. Kytelers now enjoys great success and has won many pub awards.
